Abstract: The purposes of this research are probing into the development processes of the art policy in China and the life course of Chinese contemporary artists. At first, I would like to generalize the art policy in different periods in China. Therefore, we will able to understand the relationship between development processes of the art policy in China and Chinese contemporary artists. Furthermore, interview with Chinese contemporary artist, Li-jun Fang, to understand the concern of identity is much more important in Chinese artists’ works nowadays.
